With the weather warming up, Tahoe Ability Program participants have been taking full advantage of the many spring activities our area has to offer.
We started out the spring season by visiting the Reno Aces Ballpark for opening day and have attended three games since! Each participant enjoys different aspects of visiting the stadium. From full size baseball helmet nachos, to catching fly balls and T-shirts, or simply just soaking up some sun there is something for everyone.
Tahoe Ability Program participants have also been partaking in their own spring sports. Through the use of various fitness balls, participants have the opportunity to practice dexterity exercises such as dribbling with one hand, passing the ball to a partner, tossing and catching, and many others. These exercises have become a functional and enjoyable way to workout our mind and body while enjoying the beautiful weather.
The many trail systems in our area have continued to be a wonderful outlet for spring hiking as well. During these hikes we learn new words in sign language as well as spanish by identifying objects along the trail. This has been a great way to incorporate inclusivity and learning in all that we do. As the year progresses we are excited for more outdoor adventures within the community. Your donations make it possible for us to continue the many community based activities we partake in each year. Thank you for your consideration and support.
